Governance
Limbs 4 Life is governed by a voluntary Board of Management comprised of passionate members with an array of corporate, community, health and non-profit experience. The Board’s responsibilities include ensuring high levels of accountability to stakeholders, ensuring funds provided to Limbs 4 Life are managed appropriately, ensuring that Limbs 4 Life acts legally and ethically, providing strategic direction, managing risks, monitoring compliance and raising awareness in the community.
Board of Management
Carmen Keshishian Chair – Carmen is a graduate of the Leadership Victoria Experience Bank Leadership Program (EBLP’09), Carmen has been involved with the NFP/Community sector through a number of Leadership Victoria projects, and has spent over 12 months involved in various projects for Limbs 4 Life. Carmen joined the Limbs 4 Life Board and was elected Chair in November of 2010.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Carmen has extensive background within the government and private enterprise sectors, and is excited by the opportunity to apply her knowledge and expertise working with Limbs 4 Life and contribute to the organisations growth.
Michael Tudball Deputy Chair
FAICD, MIPAA MBA, Grad. Dip Bus. Dip CD
Michael has successfully operated his own Management Consultancy company for over 13 years, specialising in Quality Management, Business Improvement and since 2005 working extensively with local communities in community engagement and development. Michael also holds a number of Board positions including the Board of Management, Djerriwarrh Health Services and appointed to the Board of Country Fire Authority (CFA) in 2003 and currently holds the position of Audit Committee Chair and finally appointed Deputy Chair, Regional Development Australia, Grampians Committee in October 2009 as part of a network of 52 committees across Australia by the Commonwealth Government in partnership with State Government.
Michael was also elected as a local government Councillor with Moorabool Shire in 2004 and re-elected in 2008. Was elected Mayor for 2008/09 and currently holds the Community Portfolio within Council, Chair of Per-Urban Group of Rural Councils and Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) representative, along with many Council committees and workgroups.
Brock Irwin Treasurer - Brock is a Chartered Accountant currently employed in a management role within a multinational top 50 ASX listed company. Brock has been involved in various volunteering projects within the sporting fields and the community, and looks forward to expanding his knowledge in NFP sector through Limbs 4 Life. Brock will be joining the board in 2011, offering his finance and management skills, and assuming the Treasurer position.
Emma Olivier Deputy Treasurer - Emma was born with one arm, so although not an amputee certainly has lots of experience as a one handed person! She currently works fulltime for an international consulting firm as well as juggling the demands of motherhood to her two small boys. She is interested in providing support to other mothers in her situation as a peer support volunteer. She is active in her local community and has been involved in management committees of a number of NFP Community Groups over the last 5 years.
David Evans Secretary – David is a Commercial Manager and brings to the board more than 20 years experience in providing business governance and financial management to corporations. David is experienced in contracting and contract management. He is skilled in stakeholder management and the implementation of business strategies, he has extensive management experience including management roles across Asia.
Helen Connor - Helen is a physiotherapist working in a Metropolitan public hospital; she joined the board in 2009. She has extensive experience working with amputees in the clinical setting. Helen is passionate about assisting amputees to achieve their goals and reclaiming their independence; while encouraging amputees to explore ways to maintain the benefits they achieve during rehabilitation to pursue healthier lifestyle options in the longer term.
Roberto Colanzi - Robert is a highly experienced and skilled strategy manager and industry analyst. He has a track record of providing detailed, thorough and innovative advice, support, statistical and sectoral analysis. Roberto is experienced working across a range of industries including; commercial and accounting, automotive supply especially focusing on customer service and retail supply, distribution, electronic and physical points of presence, environmental management and product stewardship, and electronic marketing, building construction, both commercial and residential, and across architectural design; government lobbying and provision of political advice and industry commentary.
Jason Harrigan – Jason is a founding board member of Limbs 4 Life Board. Jason is a below-knee amputee, who currently is employed in a management role within the telecommunications industry. Jason also has a background in counselling and volunteers his time to a range of community groups. Jason has played a significant role in the development and coordination of the Peer Support Program.
Fiona Waugh – Fiona has many years of management experience working for a range of non-profit organisations in the education, youth and welfare sectors. Fiona has expertise in non-profit marketing and communications, grant writing and business development and plays a role in these functions at Limbs 4 Life. Fiona is a founding Board Member and the founding Chair of Limbs 4 Life.
